Ward 7 is the Heart of Calgary
Myke Atkinson ran as an independent in the 2025 election. He won on a platform of thoughtful density, community vibrancy, and improving every Calgarians’ options for travel. He was part of the early advocacy efforts which brought free transit for riders under 12, and continues to advocate for it to allow all youth under 18 to ride for free. As an advocate for safe cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, Myke envisions a Ward 7 where you are never more than 4 blocks from a cycling network route. As he works to advocate for the needs of Ward 7, Myke continues to work with other councillors for solutions to difficult issues in our city while maintaining his belief in fairness for all Calgarians.
Stage 4 Water Restrictions begin Nov 4th, 2026
Stage 4 outdoor water restrictions and indoor water conservation measures will be required for approximately four weeks beginning Nov. 4.
No outdoor water use will be permitted during this time and we’re asking all Calgarians and our neighbours in Airdrie, Chestermere, Strathmore and Tsuut’ina Nation to save water indoors by taking the following actions:
Run dishwashers and laundry only when full.
Flush toilets only when needed.
Take shorter showers. Aim for three minutes.
Once the new feeder main has been connected, crews will focus on preparing the new line for service. This includes disinfecting the pipe, filling it with water and completing the water quality testing required before the new feeder main can be brought into operation. This process will take approximately two to three weeks.
The project remains on track for the new feeder main to be fully operational by the end of the year.
